Founded in 2017, The IBB Foundation was created with a simple but powerful belief: that everyone deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, regardless of their background, financial circumstances, disability, or additional support needs.
The Foundation reflects the personal journey of its founder, Irene Boham, whose path from humble beginnings in Ghana to becoming an award-winning nurse and Queen’s Nurse in the United Kingdom was made possible through the generosity and encouragement of others. Having experienced first-hand how life-changing opportunity can be, Irene was determined to create those same opportunities for future generations.
To mark her 50th birthday, Irene chose to celebrate in a different way. Instead of receiving personal gifts, she invited family, friends, colleagues, and supporters to invest in a vision that had been close to her heart for many years: establishing The IBB Foundation. Their generosity provided the first funding for scholarships, mentoring, and community initiatives that continue to empower individuals and families today.
At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to breaking down barriers and creating opportunities. Through education, mentorship, advocacy, and inclusive support, we help people build confidence, develop their potential, and create brighter futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Every life changed creates a ripple effect. By investing in people today, we are helping to build stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities for tomorrow.
