WHO WE ARE

The Foundation, established in 2017 in the UK, is a small, unincorporated charitable organization dedicated to supporting underprivileged young people in the UK and Ghana who wish to pursue careers in nursing or healthcare. The foundation celebrates and assists students in advancing to university or college-level healthcare programs, as highlighted in its “Success Stories” section.

The initiative collaborates closely with development professional Afia Appiah and her team, including Nana Yaw Sunnu and Sandra Oduro, based in Accra, Ghana. Funding primarily comes from the founder, along with donations from individuals, organizations, other charities, and sponsorships. The foundation encourages both donations and participation in future fundraising events to continue its mission.

Our mission is simple but powerful: to support underprivileged youngsters in UK and Ghana to pursue their university and college ambitions in healthcare education.

We believe that talent should never be limited by financial barriers. By investing in these deserving students, we are not only changing individual lives but also strengthening healthcare systems and communities.

Objectives

Our objective is to develop into a meaningful fundraising organisation that will promote and support career needs of underprivileged young Ghanaians to pursue their dreams in healthcare education. It also aims to Inspire nurses to offer their utmost high standard of service to patients.

Specific objectives:

  • To provide financial support to deprived young Ghanaians, who have gained admission into healthcare institutions but need financial support.
  • To provide continuing support and advice for the beneficiaries of the scheme to complete their chosen professional courses in healthcare within the stipulated period.
  • To champion and promote the interest and mentor underprivileged young Ghanaians.
  • To work in partnership with other stakeholders, including former beneficiaries, to achieve the goals of the scheme.
  • To support those with special needs who may require general advice and support.
